After representational oil painting for 37 years, I switched to abstract expressionism in mixed media and collage.  The use of textured and magazine papers, pastels, acrylic paints and found objects offers exponentially broader design possibilities and inspiration.

The pieces in my work create rhythms and relationships that take on a life of their own. The tactile techniques to shape and lay down the pieces are spontaneous and endlessly satisfying. Rather than controlling a painting medium, I now interact with my materials and let them lead me.  Most often, I address inspirations taken from nature or music to break down the familiar and express my artistic vision.

I have studied with Marise Riddell, Sharon Fishel, Leslie Exton and Thurston Houston through The Corcoran School of Art and Design, and independently with Ann Liu. My prior work experience was 20 years in management consulting and training.  I have an Ed.D. degree from The George Washington University.
