The McLean Art Society is very pleased to announce the opening of The McLean Art Gallery on September 17, 2025. Located in the Chesterbrook Shopping Center, 6224B Old Dominion Drive (behind Starbucks), the Gallery aims to become a vibrant hub for our community’s  art enthusiasts and collectors.

“We are very excited about the new gallery”, exclaims  Jane McElvaney Coonce, Gallery Director. “Art enriches life and is the soul of human experience.  Thanks to the generous support of the Federal Realty Investment Trust, the new gallery will enable 35 local artists to display their art, both representational and contemporary.   We also plan on holding workshops for the public to learn about the world of art. I just know we will bring much happiness and excitement to the community.”

The Gallery will be open to the public Wednesday through Sunday, 10 am-6 pm, beginning September 17 and will operate through the end of the year.  All artworks on display will be offered for sale.   The gallery’s opening reception will take place on Friday, October 10, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists and view their art firsthand.

The McLean Art Society is a welcoming community for art enthusiasts of all levels. Founded in 1955, the Society offers members presentations by renowned artists, curated  exhibitions, and opportunities to showcase their work at local recreation centers
