Raised in Arlington, Mike Signer began painting late in life, after learning that his biological father was a gifted impressionist who trained for a short time in Chicago with the Yugoslav Impressionist Georg Cermak. Largely self-taught (though an avid consumer of workshops and online tutorials), Mike paints and draws for pleasure and to shed light on the beautiful, troubling, inspiring, and sometimes hidden aspects of the visual world.
