Hello and thank you for your interest in viewing my paintings. I am Jay Ellenberger, a representational oil painter of landscapes and still life.

From an early age I enjoyed drawing nature and still life with graphite pencil. My interest continued as a hobby during college and after retirement I decided to explore color and oil painting. My instruction includes classes with the Smithsonian Associates, the McLean Project of the Arts, and private lessons with Naomi Chung. My inspiration comes from European and American Impressionist artists of the 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as from modern realist painters and nature.
