I am a retired professional who was captivated in childhood by photography’s ‘magic’. While Brownie or Instamatic cameras were sometimes available then, costs of film/developing extinguished that spark. It was rekindled in late adulthood thanks to a modestly-good-quality, hand-me-down film camera. My digital efforts began in 2006 via a starter DSLR plus kit-lens. I have independently studied and relished amateur photography ever since. I only began printing A3 (11″x17″) or A3+ (Super B, 13″x19″) sized images in 2024. This is the first setting in which my photographs have been publicly displayed (as digital images or in print).
