Benjamin Leung specializes in creating acrylic paintings of flowing water, seascapes, horizons, and abstract landscapes. He also paints various subject matter including plants, still life, and recurring abstract motifs in watercolor on paper.

Artist Statement:

I paint abstract acrylic paintings in a gestural and spontaneous way by blending colors without a preconceived composition in mind. I build up textures and recurring patterns by using heavy body acrylics, flow acrylics, modeling paste, and collage on canvas as well as watercolor paper.

My process is more intentional when I compose my bamboo forest and flowers paintings, as well as wooded area paintings in acrylics and watercolors.

In recent years, my miniature seascape paintings and abstract watercolor bookmarks have become popular collectibles among art collectors at various craft festivals.

I am a member of both the McLean Arts Society and the Northern Virginia Handmade Guild.
