For Mary-Jeanne, painting and travel are strongly linked. She has been traveling world-wide for over fifty years. Her paintings help her build vivid memories.
She states: “I put a piece of myself in my paintings. In the process of painting, I both lose and find myself. My personal experiences and emotions are a part of my paintings. As I work on a piece or look at what I believe is my final painting, I connect back again to the time and place. I relive it and find peace. My hope is that others will also experience what I see and feel when they view my paintings.”
Mary-Jeanne paints landscapes primarily in oil, but also in watercolor and pastel. Her work is regularly accepted in juried shows at the McLean Art Society, Arlington Artists Alliance, Art League of Alexandria, , and Falls Church Arts. She also shows at the Arts Club of Washington. Her works are continuously shown at the Gallery Underground in Crystal City.
She serves on the board of the McLean Art Society and the Finance Committee of the Arlington Artists Alliance.
