Merete is creating mostly in watercolor and charcoal.  She paints primarily cityscapes and portraits but also enjoy plain air painting,  seeking contrast in value and color in all her subjects to communicate the expressions and feeling of her subjects.  She paints what speaks to her, freezing it in time.

She has been juried into many shows and has exhibited her works in numerous locations in New York, Washington DC, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia and has won awards of Honorable Mention and Best in Show.  As a member of several arts societies, she currently exhibits her works in  the greater metropolitan DC area.
