Painting to Capture the Inigma of Life

Michael Potashnik,vws is a Fine Artist currently residing in Virginia. He began his art career as a plein air landscape painter shifting to abstract expressionist painting several years ago. His collective works reveal an evolution in styles and motifs inspired by artists such as Miro, Kandinsky, Klee, Delaunay,, Mondrian, and artists of today. Potashnik’s paintings exhibit brilliant color combinations and complex biometric representational and geometric forms, within a variety of spacial relationships. A signature member of the Virginia Watercolor Society,, his paintings have been juried into many shows and are found in the Heritage Gallery and the McLean Art Gallery Potashnik also teaches art in McLean at the Chesterbrook Residences. Michal supports the arts as a member of the Met in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Baltimore Museum of Art, and the Phillips Gallery in Washington, DC
